Since year 2001all models of SOFT-ENGINE'S dynamometers for car have the same mechanical structure, both accelerative and braked models.You can buy the accelerative dynamometer and in a second time you can add the brake kit to transform the accelerative dynamometer into a braked one. 
If you buy the accelerative dynamometer, here is a big flywheel instead the eddy current brake, so you can made the accelerative tests having the correct mass (models "INERTIAL 350 CAR 2x2" and "INERTIAL 700 CAR 4x4").
If you like, you can substitute in a second time the flywheel with the brake (and upgrade the electric parts), as shown in the pictures, so the accelerative dynamometer becomes a braked one. This transformation is definitive: when an inertial dynamometer becomes a braked one, all accelerative and braked tests are possible without other transformations. So, SOFT-ENGINE DYNAMOMETERS ARE  "DUAL PURPOUSE"!

With our braked dynamometers it is possible to make also the accelerative tests, so the it is a very complete machine. When the dynamometer is used in the accelerative mode, it can measure quantities like horse-power, torque, acceleration, vehicle speed and distance (travelled by the vehicle over the roller), with great precision and quickness. 

The most complete dynamometer model is called "Braker 350 car": thanks to the eddy current brake, you can stop the acceleration at different rpm points you've imposed on the software, so you can make the engine mapping. Moreover, by our special test, called "Inertial & Braker", it's possible to make a truthful road-simulation, because while you accelerate the vehicle, the eddy current brake  gives a suitable load to engine to simulate the road frictions.

Obviously, for each dynamometer model there is the 2x2 and the 4x4 version.

The dynamometer has some accessories like carburation data acquisition by lambda device, rpm direct acquisition, exhaust gas temperature measurement, and others. All the accessories can be added in a second time after basic-dynamometer purchasing. Accelerative dynmometers are suitable to up-grade the eddy current brake, so you can change quickly your Soft-Engine accelerative dynamometer into a braked ones, payng only the different cost!

From year 2004, there is another important dyno accessory: the automatic meteo device, to acquire directly environment data for Horse-power and torque correction!
